More Brags!

Cathy Crecelius forgot to brag about her young star, Sainte!

Sainte and Cathy
Sainte took 1st place in Novice JWW at the Paducah Kennel Club trial on June 14th, and then took third place in Novice JWW at the Gateway Agility trial at Glen Carbon, Illinois, on July 26th.

Sharon Shanahan sent in this happy news:

Sam and Sharon

"My Corgi, Honeyfox Samwise Gamgee finished his Utility title this Spring. Then, on August 1st, he showed for the first time in the UDX classes and got his first UDX leg and 27 Obedience Master points."
Congratulations!
Keep those brags coming. Litter announcements, new pups, too!

Members' Brags

The Paducah Kennel Club members have been busy! And I know there are more brags than these. Email me your brags and I'll get them up on this blog.

From Cathy Crecelius:

Balto

"Tsavo's Balto qualified in JWW on Saturday, August 15 at the ACE Trial in Evansville, then qualified in Standard on August 16. This past weekend, Balto double Qed on Saturday at the Golden Retriever Trial in Glen Carbon, Illinois."

Betsy Bosarth shares some big news about her Brittany, Joy:
Joy

Joy showed one day at Crab Orchard in Marion Illinois. She made her owner-handler proud by going WB and BOS over a nice special! We're extra proud of Betsy and Joy. They've been members of PKC's conformation classes on Wednesday nights and have practiced hard. Congratulations!

The next brag is about as fun as a brag can be.

PKC Board members Ginia Manchester and Sally Moore also went to the Crab Orchard Show, only they hit the Obedience rings.
Deacon and Lily with Ginia and Sally

Ginia says:
"Sally and I have been showing dogs for 11 years in Obedience. This isthe 3rd dog that each of us has titled and we did it on the same day!! Pretty cool!!"

Heather Coltharp gave me permission to brag on her whippet Emmett:

Emmett

After a year's hiatus from the show ring, Emmett was WD and BOS on Saturday at Crab Orchard. Then he was gracious enough to let his buddy Swede William...

Swede William

... go WD, BOW, and BOS on Sunday! That was fun!

I KNOW there are a whole bunch more brags, so email them to me and I'll get them up here on the blog.

all the best-

Thank You LEE !!!

Mary Lee King, affectionately known as just Lee, served as the President of the Paducah Kennel Club from 1991 until August 11, 2009.

What do you do when someone has given their heart and soul, blood, sweat, and tears to your club and is stepping down?

Well, at the Paducah Kennel Club,
we throw a PARTY!

Club member Martha Veach decorated the meeting room for the festivities.

The Guest of Honor arrives

Lee King loves her some pickin' music, and good neighbors (and Labrador Retriever owners) Charlotte and Ike Erwin came and played for us out of the goodness of their hearts. Thanks, Ike and Charlotte!
All of our members turned out and brought delicious food! Everyone wanted to thank Lee.

Good friends, good times!

And dancin' to Ol' Rocky Top! (I missed the photo when she was dancing on the table!)

Thank you to a great President. A great person, and a great friend to us all!
